One of the biggest costs on a family holiday can be tickets for attractions. It is crazy how much money they can cost when you have to buy for three or more people. Never is this more the case then when you want to visit theme parks.
On our trip to the USA, it was a big issue for us. We were on a tight budget and it was impossible to be able to afford to visit them all. However, there are some travel hacks which can help you save money when buying theme park admissions.
Contents
Hack 1: Buy tickets from ticket sellers NOT the park itself
I used to think that the cheapest place to buy tickets was from the theme parks themselves. This is rarely true. There are a great range of ticket sellers out there who can save you money on your tickets. An example is using this service for saving money on Universal Studios tickets. They even guarantee to have the cheapest price.
Hack 2: Follow the theme parks on Facebook
This can be a good way to learn about special deals and events at the theme park as often they publish them on Facebook or on Twitter.
Hack 3: Look for family tickets
A family ticket can save a lot of money as they usually offer a big discount on the price of paying for all your tickets individually. However, if you have young kids ensure that you actually need a ticket for your youngest before you pay to include them in a family ticket.
Hack 4: Look for combination tickets
Often you can buy tickets which include park entry to multiple theme parks and this can save a lot of money. For example, at Disney World, you can buy a ticket that gives you entry to one, some or all of their parks. Another good example is the Orlando Flex Ticket which gives you access to 5 different parks in the Orlando area.
Hack 5: Buy multiple day passes
If you plan to visit a theme park for more than one day, then passes usually exist for multiple days. These can often save substantial amounts of money compared to buying individual day tickets every day.
Hack 6: Travel off season
The ticket prices themselves may not be better off season, but you can often find far better packages deals in the low season which can include your theme park tickets.
Hack 7: Be weary of scams
ONLY purchase tickets through reputable sellers. If the deal seems far too good to be true, it probably is. Never buy tickets from places like eBay.
The main message here is that it is worth putting in time before your vacation to work out which parks you want to visit and for how many days. Then you can find the best ticket offers. Spending this time beforehand to work it all out can save you a lot of money.
