Are you a blogger? Do you travel with kids? If so, we’d love you to share your guest posts on Where’s Sharon Family Travel Blog!
It’s a big wide world out there and, no matter how hard we try, we can only scratch the surface. We’d welcome any content that covers destinations that we haven’t or useful travel tip posts for families.
Where’s Sharon has a big audience – one of the largest in the world for a family travel blog with over 200,000 people coming to our blog every month. An article on Where’s Sharon provides you with access to our audience as well as passing on authority from Google – our domain authority is 42.
It’s also an option to write articles about sponsored experiences – as long as they fit into my subject guidelines and I approve it in advance. This is a great way to add extra weight to your pitch when contacting hotels and tourism boards. However, you will need to write a disclaimer at the end of the article and you can not promise links to the suppliers.
To make sure we both get the most out of your guest post, we do have some guidelines. We know what works well with our audience and what doesn’t. There is no point of you going to the effort of writing a great article if no one ever sees it.
Please read the following guidelines and make sure you are happy with them before pitching your ideas. It may seem like there are a lot, but they are really quite simple and no doubt what you already do on on your own blog.
Subject
Where’s Sharon is a resource site for families who want to travel with their kids. For this reason, the articles which work best are detailed, informative posts about destinations.
Our preference for guest posts are ones titled “Top 10 Things to do in <PlaceName> with Kids”.
These obviously include your top ten things to do with kids in that destination. Ideally, they would also cover other tips for the destinations, like how to get around, what type of budget you need to stay there, best places to stay, eat etc. These sections are not essential, but the more detailed and helpful your article is, the more likely people will read it and click through to your blog.
There are many examples of this style post on my site. Here’s one. Don’t feel like you have to be as in depth (or long) as this, but it gives you an idea.
Please check you are not pitching a destination we have already written about. There is a search box on the top right of the screen, enter the city name in there to find out.
So you want to write for us? The first step is to email us your pitch.
Tell us what you want to write about via email first – [email protected].
I’ll get back to you as soon as I can and then you can get started!
Once your pitch has been accepted, please provide…
Other guidelines
This opportunity is for bloggers – we are not interested in hearing from people who are simply wanting to try to get a sponsored post up for free.
We look forward to reading your posts!
