Doo Town is a small town located in Eaglehawk Neck on the Tasman Peninsula. This quirky town is famous for having the majority of the homes named with the word “doo”. It is amazing how many names they could come up with!
The trend started in 1935 when one of the residents put up a sign on his house that read “Doo I” (later renamed to “Xanadoo”). His neighbours then started getting in on the act, and Doo Town was born.
We had a fun time driving around this tiny town, checking out the names, taking photos and trying to come up with our own names. It is in a beautiful location and adjacent to some of the natural attractions on the Tasman Peninsula (post to come!), so it is easy to fit a stop in Doo Town into any Tasman Peninsula holiday.
Some Doo Town Houses
While you are checking out Doo Town, here are some other things to do on the Tasman Peninsula.
What would you name your house?!
