Our last day and a half in Kata was pretty cruisey. We spent time at the beach, eating, in our resort’s pool and kids room and wandering around town. It wasn’t very exciting, but it was enjoyable. Naturally, on our last night we found the best restaurant so far – right on the beach and cheapest one we have been to. We got our washing done for basically nothing and ate lots of ice cream (well Josh and I did, poor S was stuck with the banana or mango parts of our deserts).
Tuesday was a beautiful day. The first one without rain as well as a blue sky. The temperature was perfect also. This really is a very beautiful part of the world.
We were sad to be checking out as the resort had been great, but we were happy to be trying out a different part of the island. Kata is lovely, but it is only small and was getting a bit boring for us after a few days. It is hard to go very far when you’ve got to carry a 16 kg toddler, so being based somewhere else will make further exploration easier.
We stayed at our first hotel until check out and spent the morning in the pools rather than at the beach like our other mornings. At 12 we checked out and set out in a taxi to our next hotel.
